New Software: MD5 Check
This software is often updated so check back frequently.
There is also other software that I have written which is either scattered throughout this site or is in another software category. For example you might want to look for Mem911. Check Bits 'n Bytes on the menu. This page now also includes the MD5 checksum for each file. Look under the download buttons for them.

Version 3.0.0.1 |
Address Book Manager 3 |
|
|
Do you need to use, manage and create multiple Address Books in Windows© Download and install Address Book Manager 3. This is an application that will allow you to easily manage multiple Address Books in the default folder. It eliminates the need for creating folders and groups in your main Address Book. Using the normal Address Book you will lose the folder and group structure if you attempt to Import or Export the data. Separate Address Books will do away with that problem And you can even use it to change the default Address Book which will be used in Outlook Express and other applications. EZ Paste takes all of the drudgery out of pasting several names into an Address Book at one time. It eliminates the problem of you having to manually confirm each entry. The Create New option allows you to easily create a new Address Book. This version features a new interface and the help files which were inadvertently left out the last time. Works on all versions of Windows.

Find what you need to know about your computer and operating system quickly
|
Do you need to find information about your Win9x computer system?
The Registered Owner, Registered Organization, Installation File Path and Computer Name can be changed on your system using a simple input box. This comes in handy when you sell or purchase a used computer with the Operating System already installed and all you want to do is change your personal information. It also quickly recovers the Windows Product Key when required to re-install Windows and all of the information can be saved to the Windows Clipboard for pasting into other documents such as a log file or a newsgroup post. No learning curve. Just run the file and click the obvious buttons.
Freeware but again I'm always open to donations to cover development costs. Use the PayPal button on the left. MD5: 0x5db97b2307586ac531c2a4855d96b5ba

There is a new version about to be released so check back often. Until then you can still use this one. The HOSTS file is used for blocking unwanted web pages from loading in your browser. However, management of the file is not all that easy for novice users. The one drawback is that once loaded, the file is soon forgotten and not updated nearly often enough. The HOSTS File Manager © has several features that make it more secure against some of the newer tricks such as HOSTS file hijacking The features currently incorporated are:

MD5 Check |

Check the MD5 hash code of a file.
|
Supports Drag and Drop and command line execution.
When you get an archive with a piece of software or some documents for some of us (and maybe even you) it is important to know if the archive is the original one and no one has modified it on its way to you. The simplest way to do that is to determine a "signature" or "hash" of that file. You then compare the hash you have determined with the hash you can see on the site where the original files is stored. If the two hashes are different then you can know for sure that your copy of the file is not a copy of the original one! If the two hashes are equal then you may have a correct copy. You can not be 100% sure, but there is a very small probability that two different files will have the same hash.
Freeware but only for now because the program is still in development. Future versions will include a user interface as well as the ability to handle multiple files. MD5: 0xdf47062a862906b0e6d4ab615d8afa12
