Have you ever been in
that situation where you are just about to finish a job and during the last
task before saving the files you get the error message "Not Enough Memory"
and you don't know what to do? Here is a little tool that may (or may
not) save the day for you. Just download
Mem911.zip , extract the file to wherever you want to keep it
and create a desktop shortcut to the file. Here's a free tip, I moved my
shortcut from the desktop to the Quick Launch bar for access in the situation
where you are so short of memory that you can't even minimize the window.
OK one more free tip. If this happens often, get more memory. Just
remember that this tool will only give a short respite so finish what you
are doing and then restart your system. This application has not
been tested on Windows 9x systems so I don't know what happens there.
I do know that it will not do any harm.
NoticC:
This is not a memory manager in any way and
should not be looked upon in that light. Memory managers as found all
over the internet do not have a beneficial effect on your system
and in some cases will cause you problems.

| Clear Recent Documents List |
| I found it handy to keep this at the top of the Start Menu. It does just what it
says. I know there are other methods of doing this including disabling recent document lists. The
problem is that later versions of MS office will not give you the recent files list in the File menu if they are
totally disabled. When the docs list gets too large then I just click the icon to clear it with no unwanted
effects on the Office apps. Download the DocClean.zip file and extract the
file to any place you want it (mine is just in the "C:\" root folder). Create a shortcut to the
file and then right-click the shortcut, drag it onto the Start button and release the right button. Choose
Move Here and rename the shortcut to Clear Recent Docs. |
