Just to add to what I said in the blurb, which I'm sure you took the time to read, something approaching 99% of the code that you find on the AutoIt forums was written by amateur coders and you should use the same caution as you would if you were testing a Beta product. If you don't then the blame rests squarely on your shoulders.

That's Convert To Web squared and don't get it confused with similar products.

What will it do?

Convert To Web² is an application that will convert an existing CHM file to web pages and/or a new compiled help project.

Decompile an existing help file for editing to extract what you need.  The files that you need can then be re-compiled (using a HTML Help compiler) to put only the pages that you need into a new help file.  For example I used it to modify the 7zip help file to include only information that was required for the command line version which was all I needed from the original file.

About:

To create a full set of web pages all you have to do right-click a CHM file, choose "Decompile" and then set your options and click proceed.

Changes in this version:

• You can now add your own hyperlinks to the bottom of the Table of Contents frame.
• You can optionally add "Bookmark This Page" to the TOC frame.
• Changes to the font size in the TOC styles.
• Minor bug fixes

Notes:

 Remember that this is a beta release and as such may not always achieve what it is supposed to do.
The source code for this version is available by request only.
The version I am currently using has added features that will be available to you in the next release.  Little things like being able to create a new project or web page when combining CHM files.

About Project Express^© 4 (current beta version is 4.0.6.9)

Project manager is my project manager of choice but that's probably because I have written all 4 versions starting with version 1, back in 1999.

Project Express (affectionately known as "PX") is a software project manager which hopefully offers the developer a complete project management solution.  It includes several handy scripting tools and is written to support multiple compilers and multiple scripting languages.  This is a BETA version so judge accordingly.

It is very much under active development and will, when completed, offer several features that are not included in any other manager.

This application is just loaded with features and tools and I will only include some of them here.

History:

The first release (written in Delphi and known as Project Manager) was a simple application that created a consistent folder structure for new projects.  All of the later versions have been written using AutoIt.  Version 2 was written using AutoIt2 with Larrys AutoitGUI.

Version 2 (known as Project Manager2) was the beginning of the multiple compiler versions and only supported AutoIt, Inno setup and The HTML help workshop.  As usual it was (and still is) written around software that I use in my projects on a regular basis.

Version 3 included several tools that were included as separate applications in the Project Express installation folder and was the first public release..  Those tools have pretty much all been included as functions within Project Express version 4.

At this point I am only including a link to the setup file.  The source MAY be made available at a much later time.  The reason being that there are still many functions which have not been included at this point.  I am also debating whether or not to release 2 versions.  A free version which would be essentially what is available now and a commercial version which would include all of the missing functionality.

Setup

There is currently a minor issue with the first run of the app after install.  I'm working on that but since my system has used every version of this app, I can not duplicate the reported issue.  I have managed however to find a solution to the reported problems.  Simply restart the application.  The current release of the setup file will display this problem.  If I don't find the actual problem then the next release will include a dummy project that should force the application to perform properly on first use.  PM me for further details.

Please remember that this is a made to work with multiple development languages so some functionality that is language specific may not be added by request.

 

This is one of those handy little tools that you don't need often but it can make life simple.  Not to mention that you don't have to do your own registry hacks. This does exactly what the title implies, it will add or remove context menu entries for file types supported by Resource Hacker.  For the AutoIt buffs I have added an extra one, I associate the *.bin files so that you can view the AutoItSC.bin file (yes it's hackable). If you don't have AutoIt installed then that item does not appear.  It's so simple to use that I have not even typed out a help file at this point, so I'll mention a couple of things here.  When I first started out I had the current status of the file types displayed by simply having the code check the registry values and setting the checkboxes accordingly.  I drifted away from that concept so it you want to know the status just click on the refresh checkbox.   The second point is somewhat more important.  If you installed Resource Hacker using my Win32 installer then you have no configuration.  I's all done for you.  If you just downloaded the zip file then the registry key for the path will not be available.  In this situation you will get a one-time request to browse for the executable. If you are trying to delete a certain association then, all that's great, make sure that the only items checked before you click the remove button are the ones you want to remove.  Hoping to change that part of the code in a future beta release.  Have fun with it.
